Continuous scroll reads like a long, unbroken page. Chapters load ahead as you approach the end of one, so the story never pauses to ask you to tap “next chapter.”
Page-flip lays the chapter out as fixed pages with a genuine turn animation — a soft curl, not just a slide — so it feels closer to a printed book. Tap either edge of the screen, swipe, or use the arrow keys, and the page turns.

Switch between them anytime from the reader toolbar. And this is the part we’re actually proud of: switching modes doesn’t reset your position. Under the hood, your spot in the chapter isn’t stored as a raw scroll pixel or a page number — it’s anchored to the actual paragraph you’re reading and how far through it you are. Hop from scroll to flip mid-sentence, and you land on the same sentence, now laid out as a page instead of a scrolling block.
Your Bookmark Isn’t a Guess
Most reading apps save your position as “last chapter opened,” or worse, a raw scroll offset that quietly breaks the moment you change your font size — the page reflows, and suddenly your bookmark points at the wrong paragraph.
Bacalah anchors your position to the content itself. Increase the text size, rotate your phone, switch from flip to scroll — your bookmark re-resolves against the new layout instead of a stale pixel count. And because it’s saved to your account, not just your browser, it follows you across devices: start a chapter on your phone during a commute, and pick it up on your laptop that evening at the exact paragraph you stopped.
No Ads, Ever
Bacalah doesn’t run banner ads or video ads between chapters.
